Integration Supports “Best of Breed” Quality Improvement Solutions Strategy

Hollywood, CA, April 24, 2006 – ACS® MIDAS+™, a business unit of ACS Healthcare Solutions, and Curaspan, a leading provider of electronic patient discharge solutions, announced today the availability of an integrated solution combining Curaspan’s eDischarge® planning product with the ACS MIDAS+ Care Management product.

eDischarge is a web-based discharge solution that automates the paper- and phone-intensive process of placing patients in post acute care settings. Hundreds of hospital and post acute providers rely on eDischarge for 100% web-enabled referrals and placements. eDischarge customers include leading hospitals such as New York Presbyterian Hospital, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Sentara Health System, and Carilion.

This integration will give discharge planners immediate access to all the information collected in the MIDAS+ Care Management application during the patient’s stay and transfer the required information directly to eDischarge. Today, over 700 hospitals nation-wide license the MIDAS+ Care Management product to meet the workflow and reporting needs surrounding Resource Utilization, Case Management, Patient Safety and Clinical Quality Improvement.

“We are excited to offer MIDAS+ Care Management customers seamless workflow with eDischarge,” says Jim DeWeese, Senior Vice President of ACS MIDAS+, a division of ACS Healthcare Solutions. “We are seeing significant interest from our customers who wish to extend MIDAS+’s capabilities to electronic discharge planning. eDischarge’s high degree of customer satisfaction and proven ROI matches perfectly with the MIDAS+ philosophy and validates our approach in assisting healthcare organizations in their on-going efforts to improve utilization and quality of care.”

“Integrating with MIDAS+ Care Management is a key piece of our connectivity strategy,” said Tom Ferry, CEO of Curaspan. “By providing HL-7 based integration between eDischarge and MIDAS+ customers can protect and extend their investment in these best of breed solutions.”

This announcement was made at the 13th Annual NICM Clinical Case Management Conference & 7th Annual ACMA Meeting.
