Risk Management Patient Safety System


Risk Management is a process used to document information about areas of potential concern to an organization, including information about patients, non-patients, and employees.

The Risk Management module is an automated and efficient risk event data collection, reporting, and analysis tool. It provides functionality for Risk Management, Claims Management, Patient Relations, Worker's Compensation, and Employee Health. Patient or non-patient (visitor, employee, auxiliary member) occurences such as safety, medication errors, falls, and equipment failures can be documented, attributed to individual physicians, employees, and hospital departments, and tracked through a referral process. User-defined fields are available for additional data collection. Final disposition of occurences can be accessed immediately in detailed standard or user-defined reports, graphs and profiles, or followed over time to establish patterns and trends.

Remote Data Entry (RDE) for event reporting is accessible through the hospital intranet to increase reporting and decrease the time between incidents and their entry into the database. Users design the RDE entry forms to suit any incident type. The RDE application is entry only, does not require a password, and the entry is immediately available in the MIDAS+ database for review, referral, and reporting. User-defined SmarTrack™ Worklist Rules and e-mail notification automate follow-up and manage workflow and referrals.
